When you need tabs on a Drupal 7 or Drupal 8 site and don't have a front-end developer making the components for you, you can use the Quick Tabs module, optionally along with theĀ Bootstrap Quicktabs module.

Step-by-step guide

This is all coming from memory, so it might be a bit off.

  1. Install the module.

  2. Configure a quicktab group, note that they come out as blocks.

  3. To render a quicktab group in panels, you can probably just place the block directly, but for D7, I usually preferred creating a CTools Content Type plugin.
